About the Event
Join Rethos, Advanced Masonry Restoration, and American Engineering Testing for a brand new class all about brick basics!
To set the stage, structural engineer Chris Hartnett will discuss the role and components of exterior brick masonry. You will learn about different types of mortar, common causes of wear & tear, and suggested repairs. Then, you will learn how best to mix mortar, lay bricks, and tuckpoint a masonry facade alongside Tim Miller and his masons from Advanced Masonry Restoration.
Class includes time for Q&A, expert demonstrations, and hands-on practice.Â
This class is part of the rehab education program of Rethos: Places Reimagined. We are proud to offer a variety of classes for homeowners, students, real estate agents, and others who love old buildings. The Rethos education program is funded in part by the Arts & Cultural Legacy Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society.Â
