About the Event
*This class is being presented as a webinar*
Created by the Mapping Prejudice team in partnership with Rethos: Places Reimagined, this class explores structural racism and the racial wealth gap as it applies to housing. We'll consider the role of the real estate industry in the history of racial housing discrimination and the consequences of these policies on housing equity today.
Mapping Prejudice is a team of geographers, historians, digital humanists, and activists working to illustrate the history of racial discrimination in Hennepin County. They are mapping racially restrictive covenants to show that large swaths of our residential communities were protected for white households, contributing to our current racial wealth gap.
Brought to you by Rethos: Places Reimagined, this course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 2 hours of real estate continuing education. It is open to all.
The health and safety of our participants is our priority. We will be monitoring public gathering rules, and if the situation changes, we will host this class as a webinar at the scheduled time.
**This course is co-sponsored by the Minneapolis Area REALTORS (MAR) and St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS (SPAAR). MAR & SPAAR members receive $10 off registration. MAR members, use the code WhoWeR-MAR, and SPAAR memebrs should use the code WhoWeR-SPAAR.**
