Minnesota's cities, towns, and neighborhoods boast a wide variety of architectural styles. But can you name those styles and identify their characteristic features? This two-hour class looks at the common styles of old Minnesota homes, from the 1850s through the 1960s. You'll learn to distinguish a Queen Anne from an Italianate home, name the essential elements of a Craftsman, understand the historical trends that influenced these styles, and much more.
Taught by architectural historian Kristin Anderson, this class will strengthen your knowledge of urban and residential evolution, Minnesota's architectural styles, and local history.
