Whether we want to admit it or not, winter is coming! Now is the time to start thinking about making home energy improvements to stay warm this winter.
In the first of a two-part workshop series, you'll learn the components of a Home Energy Audit and discover potential energy savings in your own home. A Home Energy Audit models a home's energy use and recommends upgrades. A Home Energy Audit is the best first step to making energy-saving and comfort-increasing improvements on older homes.
In the workshop, a Building Performance Institute-certified Energy Auditor from Ecolibrium3 will lead you through a model audit, including a demonstration of a blower-door test, a look at a home's heating system and insulation, an investigation into safety measures, and a discussion of improvement opportunities. Participants will receive firsthand knowledge of the value of an energy audit. Then, you'll have the opportunity to participate in Part 2 of the Winterization Workshop, which will teach you winterization strategies for your older homes!
