This 1.5-hour continuing education class is designed for real estate agents and teaches why old growth wood windows, commonly found in pre-1960s homes, are worth saving. Nowadays, the default option for aging windows is to replace them with costly new windows made of low-quality materials that cannot be repaired. This practice triggers a cycle of waste and ever-increasing replacement costs.

In this new class from Rethos, agents will learn about the economic, environmental, and aesthetic benefits of retaining old homes’ original windows. Well-maintained, historically appropriate windows add value to any old home. Co-taught by Laura Kotten, a Realtor and owner of Twin Cities-based window repair company, and Laura Leppink, a trades specialist with window restoration experience all over the country, this course offers unique perspective on the debate between replacing and repairing old windows.

This course has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 1.5 hours of real estate continuing education. It is open to all.
