The best way to prevent unexpected and expensive rehab projects is proactive maintenance. In this class, you’ll learn what home maintenance tasks you should do on a seasonal or annual basis.

Building off earlier classes in our Live From the Cox House class series, historic preservation specialist Laura Leppink will walk through how to build a maintenance plan for your old home.

This webinar will utilize Zoom to share videos from the Cox House and host live Q&A sessions with our instructor Laura. A maintenance plan for your old home will arm you with a manageable checklist, resources, and a maintenance schedule.

Join us as we explore the Cox House together while learning how to better take care of your beloved home. The Cox House, one of the few fully restored Carpenter Gothic cottages in Minnesota, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Eugene St. Julien Cox and his wife Mariah “Mayhew” Cox built this home and raised their family here. The women raised in this house went on to make local and state history. The Cox House interprets the lives and experiences of Victorian women and  tells those stories in dynamic ways to diverse audiences.

This class is part of the education program of Rethos: Places Reimagined and  is hosted in partnership with the Nicollet County Historical Society.  Rethos is proud to offer a variety of classes for homeowners, students, Realtors, and others who love old buildings. The Rethos education program is funded in part by the Arts & Cultural Legacy Fund through the Minnesota Historical Society. This project is in part funded by the Historic Preservation Education Foundation.
