Dave & Carole live in a 1930s home that they purchased in the late 1970s. They are only the third family to live in the house. Over the years, they have added two bedrooms and a bathroom, raised their three children, and managed a Family Daycare Program at their house.
Between 2019-2021, the couple participated in three different weatherization and revitalization programs.
City of Winona Neighborhood Revitalization Program
New furnace
18 new windows
Insulated exterior walls & attic
New smoke detectors & carbon monoxide detectors
Xcel Home Energy Program
New freezer, refrigerator, and window AC unit
Semcac Energy Audit
Full house energy audit
Replaced lightbulbs
Weatherstripped doors
They both remarked about the quality of life improvement from all these updates: quieter house, more comfortable living spaces, and of course, energy savings. As longtime homeowners, they are committed to being good stewards of this house where they’ve lived for so long. Investing in the maintenance and upkeep of the home is essential to that stewardship.
